Eight O'Clock Coffee Vintage Print Ad.
The Art of the Follow-Up EmailTime for some sales stats: Only 2% of sales happen directly because of a single initial meeting. 80% of sales take five follow-ups to close. Here are some tips to avoid the email marathon in follow-ups. Map it out: Don't send emails on a Monday or Friday. If you want their full attention, try the mid-week send. Nail the subject line: Focus on building a conversation from the subject line that flows into the email. If you need to add your value prop in the subject line; do it. Keep it short: Stick to 3-4 sentences. Add a call-to-action: Don't leave your last sentence open-ended. Instead, be direct. Ie: Let me know some times that work for a quick call. Here are next steps. Etc. Make it personal: Do some research on the person before copying and pasting a template. We recommend checking out their LinkedIn profile. Maybe you have a similar hobby or went to the same school. If so, don't be afraid to mention that in your email. Don't do this: If you don't get a response, don't flag your email as important, flood your prospect's inbox every day or send a breakup email too soon.It may take 4 or 5 follow ups to get a response. Don't get defeated easily.Dive deeper here.
