Create a High-Converting Signup Form

Your website signup form is one of the easiest ways to grow your email list. Too often, we set it and forget it without diving into the optimization around it.If you’re looking to reduce (some) potential friction and continue to grow your list, check out some of the tips below on creating a high-converting signup form.

  • Start with goals: Don’t overlook this simple step. Knowing your goals will guide which fields you ask subscribers to fill out and the messaging you use for your form. 

  • Consistent design: Consistent branding has been shown to inspire trust with consumers and even increase revenue by as much as 33%. Make sure your signup form matches the fonts, colors, and visuals from the rest of your site. 

  • Keep it simple: Don’t add unnecessary text to your signup form if it’s not relevant to your signup form. Take the ‘less is more’ approach.

  • Good incentives: We’re all used to being asked for our email so make sure you’re offering something worth giving it up for. Ie: free shipping, 15% off, a gift, etc.) People like to feel like they’re getting a deal.

  • Use dropdowns or multiple choice: Dropdown or multiple-choice option fields make it as easy as possible for users to respond. These options also allow you to segment your audience based on predetermined criteria.

  • Submit button: Stop using the word ‘SUBMIT.’ Have some fun with it.
