Ad fraud is a real thing, so it's important to be aware of some of the tactics used in digital advertising fraud.Here they are:  Cookie-stuffing: We love a good cookie, but this is a different kind of stuffing. Cookie-stuffing is cramming a browser with multiple affiliates tracking cookies. The metadata carries over and creates a misattribution, which can consume ad spend and hurt affiliates. Domain-spoofing: AKA - a fake version of a well-recognized site. The fraudsters trick advertisers into paying a high price based on the name, despite very little ad traffic. Click injection: These come in the form of malware. Basically, a bot clicks the sh*t out of third-party affiliate ads without you ever knowing.  Pixel-stuffing: "Pixel-stuffing takes a 1x1 area on a site and buries multiple ads in the background. That takes advantage of impression-based marketing programs by users' unknowingly interacting with the website, earning the cybercriminal the impression credit." Geo-masking: This hides the generated lead by faking an IP address and essentially, the end user. You think you're landing a high-dollar lead, but in reality, it could be someone with less disposable income, etc. While these things may not be happening to you, it's important to know that they can.Dive deeper here.
