To Clickbait or Not?Clickbait defined...Clickbaiting is the intentional act of over-promising or otherwise misrepresenting — in a headline, on social media, in an image, or some combination — what you're going to find when you read a story on the web.As marketers, it's easy to turn to a clickbait(y) headline or title, but should you?Answer: NopeHere's why. Pulling a fast one on Google is near impossible. Their algorithms have your web content on high-alert.If you turn to clickbait, there's a good chance your SEO strategy will suffer. That said, here are a couple of tips to avoid clickbait: Create SEO-Friendly Titles & Headings - Make sure your page’s title tag and headings are SEO-compliant and relevant to its content. Using your target keywords throughout your content signals to Google that your page is relevant to your target keyword. Match user-search intent - There are 4 types of search intent: navigational, informational, commercial investigation, and transactional. You can read all about them here. Your goal with headlines and titles is to make sure your content aligns with at least one of the above. TLDR: Stay away from clickbait. It'll do more harm than good.
