4 Reasons to Start a Newsletter for Your Podcast
We already know the power of podcasts and newsletters, but what about using both of them to reinforce each other?Whether a podcast comes from a newsletter or a newsletter comes out of a podcast, we think you should seriously consider the following:
Opportunities for content: While content is king, we think ‘consistent content’ should be the real king. If folks are engaging with your content, there’s a good chance they want to hear from you regularly. A newsletter is a great tool for building a greater connection with your audience and staying top of mind.
Attract other audiences for your podcast: At some point, most brands are going to have a podcast in some form or another. In the meantime, though, you can invite a wider population into the work you’re doing by mixing up the types of content you release. People who haven’t quite made the move to podcasts might love receiving a high-quality newsletter to their email inbox.
Additional promotion: An email newsletter allows you to promote what you’re doing on a podcast and simultaneously build hype and anticipation for fans to further engage with your show.
Test other types of content: If you’re considering changing things up, a newsletter can serve as a feedback loop with your audience. You can learn a lot from their replies, clicks and other engagement metrics. From there, you can apply your learnings to your podcast itself… with a little less risk.
