8 Tips for a Viral Video

While no one can guarantee a viral video, there are some simple things to try to position yourself for success.According to our favorite IG'er, @thestevenmellor, below are 8 tactics to snag more views (and maybe go viral).

Current event or good topic: You'll want to pick a trending event or something that appeals to a broader audience outside of your niche. Don't forget that you need a...
Scroll-stopping hook: According to Steven, you need to challenge your audience or 'throw rocks at their enemies.' Audiences are getting smarter so our 'hooks' need to get better.
Increase the tempo: Get to the point and do it fast. Watch and re-watch. What can you cut to make it more succinct? Either speak faster or speed up your video by 10-15%. If there's no value, cut it.
Audio: Quality audio is better than quality video. Invest in a decent mic.
Background audio: Keep your background music to 2-5% or just enough to keep the pace of the video. It should never be the focus though.
Visual change: Something should change every 2 seconds in your video. Either the background, text, your position, etc.
Don't rely on basic captions: Steven recommends CapCut for captions. It enables you to use custom fonts.
