Improve Your Email Bounce RateDespite the name, there's no fun being had with an email bounce.A bounced email means that an email couldn't be delivered to the recipient. Why should you care?Because bounced emails hurt your deliverability. While you should always aim for 100% deliverability, there's a good chance you won't hit it. The standard email bounce rate hovers around 2%.So, why do emails bounce?Good question.Emails bounce for a number of reasons. Full mailbox, server timeout, oversized messages, suspended account, non-existent email, or server block. If you want to improve your email bounce rates, try the following tips: Use double opt-in: Always use double opt-in forms. The extra step reduces the chances of spam email addresses. Main your list hygiene: Use email tools like Mailercheck to verify and clean your subscriber lists. Fake emails will lead to high bounce rates. Regular maintenance is key. Authenticate your domain: 'An authenticated domain will legitimize your account, as Internet service providers (ISPs) like Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook can better route the origin of your email.' Ask for a favor: In addition to domain authentication, ask your subscribers to add your email to their inbox address book. Stay consistent: Your subscribers should have a good indication as to when they'll receive your emails (day and time of the week), plus the frequency (how many). Getting on a regular schedule will decrease your bounce rate. Dive deeper here.
