Take time to study current customers as they will lay the foundation for future buyers. Conduct interviews, talk to the sales team, email a survey, look at reviews (+ and -), listen to recorded calls, use web analytics, and monitor social media channels. Define customer touchpoints: Touchpoints indicate how and where customers interact with your brand. Touchpoints will vary based on the type of business you're in. When plotting your touchpoints, make sure you include information that shows elements of 'action, emotion and challenges.' Map the current state: You need to have an idea as to where your current customer journey stands.
