How's Your Cold Email Game?

First impressions are everything, especially with email.Too often, our opening email lines are butchered beyond belief. The sales folks at Hubspot did a deep dive into opening lines that miss the mark. Here they are:

  • "My name is..." - Just get rid of it. Go right to the second sentence.

  • "I work for..." - This line screams, "I'm trying to sell you something."

  • "Did you know..." - Using stats are good and well but don't drop them in your first few sentences.

  • "I've been thinking..." - Don't come out of the gate with self-interest.

  • "I hope you're doing well..." - It doesn't get any blander than this.

  • "Did you find what you're looking for?" - This line serves a purpose, but it has to be way more specific.
