What You Can Learn From Mr. BeastIf you're in marketing, you likely know the name, Mr. Beast. The guy is a legit beast on YouTube.Highlight reel: Real name: Jimmy Donaldson 25 years old (born in 1998) Started posting to YT in 2012. Didn't go viral until 2017. 145m YouTube subscribers 24.6b video views $40m in revenue in 2022Some refer to Mr. Beast as the king of YouTube. Whatever the case, here are a few ways to stand out on YouTube like Jimmy. Thumbnails: Focus on the curiosity gap, use big, readable text, and include a human face showing emotion. Clickable headlines: Use a big number, shocking story, wild claim, or 'I did something' declaration. Hooks: Jimmy makes his hooks extreme opinions. The thought is that negative clickbait is much easier than positive. Hold attention: Getting attention is great. Holding it is even better. To do so, work on your hooks, create tension, and open loops but don't close them until the end. The icebreaker test: If you met someone for the first time and shared your idea - would they a.) not care or b.) ask a follow-up question.
