4 Key Elements of Effective Social Media Videos
85% of internet users in the United States watched online videos in 2018. That's a BIG stat.As videos continue to flood the interwebs, it's important to understand the key elements for your social media uploads. Here are some things to consider for maximum engagement.
The Platform: No brainer, right? Not necessarily. You wouldn't believe how many people upload landscape videos from Facebook directly to their IG Stories. Make sure you understand the platform you're posting on and how the audience engages with it.
Length: The hook should always be at the beginning of your video, but make sure you're aware of posting length. Stories (15sec) versus Reels (30sec) versus IGTV (60min).
Video Graphics: Your graphic is just as important as your video content. Use a service like Canva with some built-in, eye-catching graphics to start. And don't forget that most people (70%) are watching YouTube videos on mobile. Design accordingly.
Sound:'A survey found that 69% of consumers in the US watch videos on mobile devices without sound in public places.' Takeaway: Add subtitles or text.
