Segment Your List

When it comes to newsletters or eCommerce emails, segmentation is key. Sending a blanket email to your entire list is not only ineffective but could be costing you conversions. Here are some quick and dirty tips to segment your list.

  • Location: Let's say you only ship your product to folks in the United States. There's no point in blasting the same email to someone in the UK. Location is a great place to start when it comes to segmentation.

  • New subscribers: It takes time for new subs to warm up to your brand. We recommend a welcome series to introduce them to the brand before you include them in your regular email flow.

  • Repeat customers: These are your gold standard subscribers. Consider sending them exclusive deals and new releases to keep them feeling special.

  • Inactivity: If someone hasn't opened your email in a long time, send them a final chance email to stay on the list. If they don't respond - cut 'em.

  • Clicks: You might be pushing a specific course or product. Segment the subs by 'CLICKS' of said product and re-engage with them if they haven't converted. You'll be surprised by the results of a re-engagement campaign.
