Use Pop-ups the Right Way
There's no doubt that pop-ups have their place on your website. But - the last thing you want to do is disrupt the browsing experience of your customers. Check out the tips below to make sure you're doing pop-ups the right way.
Make them contextual: You don't need to use a pop-up on every site of your page. Instead, 'ensure relevance around the who, what, where, when, and why for any pop-up that displays on a page.' Be thoughtful about its placement.
Timing is everything: Before you do anything with pop-ups, head over to Google Analytics and check out the time spent on pages. This will be your best indicator as to what pages to implement pop-ups on.
Be different: We're all numb to pop-ups at this point. 'Sign up for a newsletter, get 10% off,' etc. Try mixing it up with your pop-up.
Have a clear offer: Don't overcomplicate your offer. Keep your pop-up as simple as possible with only one CTA.
Limit the ask: Don't have more than 2 form fields. Enough said. Check out a few more here.
