How to Use a Video Course as a Marketing Tool Facts: Educational courses work. They can also be lucrative. Before you start cashing checks though, you might consider starting with a free course to get your free wet (and your brand out in the wild). The folks at Ahrefs published a banger blog post on how their video course landed them over 500k views and helped them pushed their product. We'll highlight each tip, but make sure you spend some time on the post to learn more. Creation: “Break your lessons into smaller ones. Make each just three to four minutes long.” Snackable lessons make folks feel better about their progress. The strategy: What are you trying to accomplish? If you're launching a course for lead acquisition and nurturing, a free course is a great place to start. Waitlist: Scarcity sells. Make sure you use it in your promotions related to your course. The goal is to build anticipation. Promotion: What do your existing channels look like? Email is a great place to start for initial promotion. Twitter, Reddit, ProductHunt, Facebook ads and influencers are good options too. The Launch: It's time to use some good ol' fashioned urgency. Consider something along the lines of 'FREE for 30 days. Then $499.' Paywall: After the 30 days are up, make sure you add a paywall to your course. Giveaways: If you start charging for your course, giveaways serve as an awesome tool for lead generation. Share it on social channels and drive folks to your page through a free course giveaway.Check out 3 more tips for a successful course launch here.
