Write better hooks with these 7 tips...

How to Write a HookYou hear the word 'hook' a lot when it comes to content. Whether it's a video, advertisement, IG carousel, {fill in the blank}, the hook is crucial. Why?Because a good hook draws in your audience and leaves them wanting more. So, how do you write a good hook? Use an anecdote: Consider a story that'll help you connect to your audience. The goal is to get them asking - "well, what happened next?" Ask a question: Asking relevant questions implies you have relevant answers. Use questions on the regular to increase engagement. Use a statistic: Numbers draw people in because they're eye-catching and tell a story without a whole lot of context. Use a pattern break: "A pattern break is anything that’ll interrupt what your audience is doing and almost force them to notice your message." Use a quote: "Live, Laugh, Love." Just kidding - but quotes are a great way to establish some common ground from the onset. Make sure you use a quote that ties into your brand. Use controversy: If you make a bold claim, you're going to get reactions. Enough said. Use interactive tools: Last week, we talked about using quizzes in your marketing funnel. This rings true with your hook as well. Interactive tools help create a more personalized experience for your audience. Dive deeper here and see specific examples.
