Make Your B2B Marketing Not Suck

Can we do a thing and stop using the term B2B marketing? Any takers?Hear us out...More often than not, human beings make decisions based on feelings, not data. Simon Sinek nailed it when he said, “people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.”It’s easy to lose sight of people when you’re in the B2B marketing space. There’s almost an unspoken obligation that your marketing has to be boring or that you can’t tow the line. Not anymore. Check out a few ways to shift your B2B mindset with the tips below:

  • Define your beliefs and lead with them: No one cares about your technical jargon. They care about how your product or service is better than your competitors. How do you show that? Lead with the core beliefs of your company and the business will follow.

  • Know who is NOT right for your product: Today, everyone is no one. Think about it. If you’re creating your product or service for everyone, there’s a good chance you have no idea who your core customer is. Take some time to nail down your ideal customer. From there - speak to an audience of one. 

  • Market from the inside out: If your team isn’t bought into your mission and vision, you’re toast. Spend some time taking the pulse of your team. Do they even know your mission?

  • Prove what you’re about: ‘Your content is your conviction.’ If you’re committed to people, it’ll shine in everything you put out. If you’re not, it might be time to throw in the towel and save a bunch of money.
