Don't 'Blue Steel' Your LinkedIn Profile...

Dial-in Your LinkedIn Profile
There's a better chance than not you're on LinkedIn. Maybe you login on the regular or check it once a month. Whatever the case may be, you'll likely call upon this professional network at some point. Here are some tips to make your profile stand out. Courtesy of LinkedIn Advisory Board member, Marcus Murphy.
Stop using terrible profile photos: Your face should take up 60% of the frame and the background shouldn't be distracting. Don't try to Zoolander your photo either. A simple smile does the trick.
Delete 'Ninja' from your headline: You may be a ninja before or after work hours, but don't put it in your headline. Use keywords that pertain to your industry and offer some benefit to the viewer.
Add your Birthday: It might seem tacky, but adding your Birthday will remind all of your connections. It's a good way to stay on their radar.
Create a narrative summary: 'Marketing boils down to the Know, Like, and Trust Factor and LinkedIn is no different.' Tell a story through your profile that is relatable to your viewers. Don't forget to include a CTA.
Revisit your experience: Are you using bullets in the 'experience' section? Don't. Keep the above narrative going by telling folks about your expertise and accomplishments through the experience section. Don't make it look like a boring resume.
