Don’t Reinvent the Wheel

I posted the following on my LinkedIn and find myself reiterating it to clients all the time…

We all want to be original.

In doing so, we tend to overcomplicate things. If you see a post or reel out there with 1M views, don’t waste time trying to reinvent the wheel.

Do this:

1️⃣ Study what worked.

2️⃣ See why people engaged.

3️⃣ And then make it your own.

I did this with one of my IG accounts/side projects (@itsdadday). In less than 20 posts, I gained 15k organic followers by putting my own spin on some 'dad content.'

It's not rocket science, it’s smart marketing + a little bit of luck. Look at the trends that are already killing it, and tap into that. You don’t have to go viral with a brand-new idea every time.

You just have to be strategic.

So, next time you see something popping off—whether it’s a format, a message, or a meme—ask yourself, "How can I make this work for me?"

Why fight the data when you can use it?
